Also, Nissan’s patented e-Pedal with regenerative braking can help generate more battery power while you drive.

You’ll be able to go up to 259 miles on a single charge in the Chevy Bolt, but that efficiency may feel lost on the lower horsepower rating of 200. The Bolt also has a one-pedal driving feature, but of course, Nissan’s engineers have found a way to fine-tune this tool to be even better in the LEAF. The Bolt is more centered around 120-V and 240-V chargers, so you better hope that your ride gets a decent charge overnight or you might be pulling over at a charge station for a while if you need to go on a long drive.

Safety Features

Nissan has you covered by including Safety Shield 360 standard on all LEAF models which houses 6 safety and driver-assist features designed to help prevent collisions. However, Nissan is also well known for going the extra mile in this department. The new LEAF can also support an Intelligent Around View Monitor, Intelligent Driver Alertness, and ProPILOT Assist which helps you navigate freeways like you have an actual copilot sitting next to you. This incredibly intuitive feature is capable of reading road signs and detecting off-ramps and either alerting you or gently guiding you accordingly. Meanwhile, the new Bolt comes with a standard set of safety and driver-assist features named under the Chevy Safety Assist package which includes 6 total features. Unfortunately, you won’t find anything that’s as high-tech as Nissan’s ProPILOT Assist system.

Interior

The Nissan Connect app also supports Apple Watch and other select smartwatches. And for the icing on the cake, the LEAF can also provide you with heated seats, mirrors, and a steering wheel for your comfort.

The new Bolt may have a slightly larger infotainment screen size at 10.2 inches, but you won’t feel as much of a connection to your vehicle from the lack of connectivity and accessibility features. Even the driver’s digital display is rather plain, with fewer customizable options compared to the LEAF.

Bottom Line
