2025 Nissan Sentra vs 2025 Chevrolet Cruze

The Chevy Cruze is coming back after being dormant for some time, but is the new model worth all the hype? There’s a reason it became discontinued in the first place, and we fear that the 2025 Cruze may lead to the same fate. The Sentra, on the other hand, has been maintaining a hot streak of being one of the most reliable names that people count on, and that’s not stopping anytime soon.

Performance

A standard 2.0L 4-cylinder is one of the best perks of going with the 2025 Nissan Sentra. This engine produces roughly 150 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque for a decent push anywhere you need to go. With an Eco Mode system that you can customize to your preferences, you can achieve about 30 in-city or 40 highway miles per gallon in the new 2025 Sentra. Decent power and mileage are to be expected of a trusty sedan, but Nissan added a few extras to boost your performance for a drive that’s well above average. Aside from being built on a simple CVT system, the new Sentra also supports Intelligent Trace Control, Intelligent Engine Brake, Active Ride Control, and a multi-link rear suspension system with advanced steering to elevate your ordinary drive into a performance-driven joy ride.

Much of what we know so far about the returning 2025 Cruze is still in the dark until closer to its release, but what’s been revealed so far isn’t anything too exciting. There are two engine options to choose from, sure, but nothing else that speaks of true performance other than a sport-tuned suspension system. It’s also worth noting that the upcoming Cruze is a couple of miles shy of meeting the Sentra’s stellar highway MPG rating. With so much to play around with in the 2025 Sentra, settling for anything less just doesn’t feel justified.

Safety Features

Nissan hasn’t let up in the tech department, especially when it comes to advanced driver-assist features. You can expect the 2025 Sentra to include the Safety Shield 360 package standard along with Intelligent Forward Collision Warning to boost your awareness when navigating busy streets. If you’re looking for something a little extra, we highly recommend the available Intelligent Cruise Control and Intelligent Around View Monitor upgrades which both work tirelessly to make driving less tedious and safer.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 includes:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Rear Automatic Braking
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • High Beam Assist

Again, not much has been released yet for the 2025 Chevy Cruze. Some of the anticipated safety and driver-assist features are out in the open, and it’s not looking very great. Standard features don’t seem to surpass your average automatic emergency braking and lane-assist systems, and available upgrades might not be worth the extra dough. For instance, blind spot monitoring is a paid feature in the Cruze despite being included as standard in the Sentra’s Safety Shield 360 package. Why pay for something that should be a necessity rather than a privilege?

Interior

Nissan takes sportiness seriously even in their low-cost rides like the new Sentra. You can find comfortable Zero Gravity seats in the front and rear with available upgrades to enhance the sporty vibes like contrast stitching and other design elements that pair well with exceptional performance. It’s never a dull ride, either, with higher-end entertainment systems that are a step up from your average sedan. Imagine cruising around town or down the freeway with an 8-speaker Bose audio system blasting your music in pristine quality! Our personal favorite is the 2025 Sentra’s available Remote Engine Start System with Intelligent Climate Control to set up your ride before you even hop in.

The one thing that Chevrolet has to boast about regarding seating in the Cruze is the fact that they’re ventilated. Not that they’re comfortable or sculpted for sport, which is concerning for someone who’s willing to take a chance on waiting for this resurrected fossil (that may or may not flop). If you’re on the waitlist, you have leather trim to look forward to, at the very least. It might help drive your decision to know that both the Sentra and Cruze share smartphone connectivity and wifi hotspot support, leaving the Sentra with more to offer in comparison.

Bottom Line

When you take everything into account, there’s no sense waiting for the new Chevy Cruze to drop when the new 2025 Nissan Sentra already has what you want in an affordable sedan and more. The Sentra has been a top choice among those seeking reliable cars with zero regrets, and that continues with the latest model.
