2024 Nissan Armada vs 2024 Infiniti QX80

The new Armada and QX80 are almost mirror images of each other on the surface, but there’s so much more going on behind the scenes that we’re about to unravel. Prepare to discover why the Armada is the better choice for its enhanced durability, advanced safety features, and incredible accessibility. The Infiniti QX80 may have power that’s identical to the Armada, but everything else pales in comparison.

Performance

Being one of the most powerful Nissan vehicles currently available, the 2024 Armada comes equipped with an incredible 5.6L Endurance V8 engine capable of 400 horsepower and 413 lb.-ft. of torque. To put it into perspective, the Armada can tow up to 8,500 pounds backed by an Intelligent 4×4 setup.

The new Infiniti QX80 also comes with a 5.6L V8 engine with 400 horsepower and 413 lb.-ft. of torque, and even the capacity to tow up to 8,500 pounds just like the Armada. However, what sets the Armada apart is the level of detail in its build quality. It’s crafted with a body-on-frame construction that involves a welded ladder frame and full-length box section rails. That means the Armada provides greater stiffness and strength for durability that you can rely on.

Safety Features

It goes without saying that the new Nissan Armada comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360 which includes 6 standard safety and driver-assist features across all trims, but we’re here to introduce you to some high-tech features that you might not be familiar with. One of our favorites is the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning feature that’s able to detect two cars ahead of you for a more advanced warning of when you should slow down in response to a sudden halt where you’re not able to see. Additionally, the Intelligent Rear View Monitor helps you see around any passengers or other items that could be obscuring your vision. This is possible by making clever use of a liftgate camera to provide you with an extra set of eyes.

Other than your standard collision warnings and emergency braking features, the QX80 also offers advanced features that may be uncommon in most other vehicles. A couple of examples include Intelligent Cruise Control which automatically adjusts your speed according to any obstacles ahead of you, and the Around View Monitor which gives you a 360-degree view of your surroundings. However, the 2024 Armada is also capable of these features on top of the ones we mentioned earlier. Nissan even takes the Around View Monitor a step further by providing a split-screen feature.

Interior

The Armada is designed for easily accommodating a large space, whether it be used for passengers or cargo. The third row can be adapted with minimal effort through the available one-touch power-folding feature to reveal up to 92.6 cubic feet of storage space. For all of the extra little knick-knacks, there’s an under-floor storage section so you can carry even more valuables. Keeping all of your passengers happy is a breeze with the Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control system for the perfect atmosphere and the available 13-speaker Bose Premium Audio System for endless entertainment. Including AudioPilot in the mix will make it easy to hear every beat of your music over the sound of various background noises.

Navigating around the QX80 may feel a little clunky compared to the Armada’s power-folding seating arrangement, but at least it also carries a Tri-Zone climate control system. Noise-insulating glass is meant to help bring out the sound of the available Bose speakers, but it doesn’t quite match the advanced technology in the Armada’s AudioPilot feature.

Bottom Line

As you can see, the only thing that the Armada and QX80 can agree on is the power of a 5.6L V8 engine. Aside from that, the 2024 Nissan Armada remains our top choice for having more advanced safety and driver-assist features as well as a cabin that supports peak efficiency.
