If you are ready for an adventure, the 2021 Nissan Leaf has the impressive range and power to get you where you are going. If you are in the market for an electric vehicle, the Nissan Leaf will not disappoint!

Ready to learn more about the 2021 Nissan Leaf? Our team at Maus Nissan North Tampa discusses the Leaf’s range and notable features so you can hit the road with confidence.

2021 Nissan Leaf

The Nissan Leaf is an all-electric vehicle, not a hybrid. It does not require gas at all. It gets the energy it needs to drive from an electric motor that is powered by a large lithium-ion battery mounted along its floor. Charging is simple, just plug it in, and let it go!

Benefits of the Nissan Leaf include:

  • No tailpipe emissions
  • No oil changes
  • No tune-ups
  • Quiet cabin
  • Access to preferred parking
  • Potential for tax savings and incentives

Nissan Leaf Range

The 2021 Nissan Leaf comes equipped with a standard 40-kWh battery and an available 62-kWh battery to keep your Leaf powered while out on the road. The 40-kWh battery will be fully charged after an eight-hour charge, or at 80% with a 50-kW quick charge.

The 40-kWh battery with 147 horsepower allows you to drive 149 miles without a recharge, and the 62-kWh battery boasts 226 miles and 214 horsepower. The 62-kWh battery is fully charged within 11.5 hours or at 80% with a 100-kW quick charge.

Nissan Leaf Features

Quick and Convenient Charging

Whether at home or on the go, all you must do is plug your Nissan Leaf in with its 6.6-kW onboard charger to power up. The 2021 Leaf lets you know that you are connected with a quick beep, and with the available Quick Charge Port, you can easily keep your 2021 Nissan Leaf at full charge wherever you are on the road.

Plus, if you are in a pinch and need to charge, the Nissan Leaf comes equipped with a 120-V charging cable so you can plug into a standard 120-V outlet for a Level 1 charge. It is the slowest charging option, but it lets you charge up wherever you can access electricity.

Nissan Leaf Limited Battery Warranty

Every 2021 Nissan Leaf comes with a New Vehicle Limited Warranty that provides:

  • 36–month/36,000-mile (whichever occurs first) basic coverage
  • 60-month/60,000-mile (whichever occurs first) electric vehicle system and powertrain coverage
  • 96-month/100,000-mile (whichever occurs first) lithium-ion battery coverage.

The coverage doesn’t stop at the limited battery warranty either. The Electric Vehicle System coverage includes:

  • The motor
  • Inverter unit
  • VCM
  • Reduction gear
  • DC/DC converter
  • Onboard charger
  • Onboard charger connector
  • Trickle charge cable

Also, for the first 36 months or 36,000 miles, owners can take advantage of Nissan’s complimentary rental vehicle program when a warrantable repair or service is performed.

E-pedal

You can drive your Nissan Leaf with one pedal. To accelerate, just press down, and ease off to slow down. Of course, the brake pedal is still there so you can brake on demand.

Safety Technology

Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 comes standard on every Nissan Leaf to keep you and your family safe on the road. Safety features include:

  • Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Rear automatic braking
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Blindspot warning
  • Lane departure warning
  • High beam assist

Also available are the Nissan Leaf lane monitoring technology, ProPilot Assist, and Intelligent Around View Monitor.

The Leaf also comes equipped with 10 standard airbags, anti-lock brakes, LATCH and Snug Kids, TPMS with Easy-Fill Tire Alert, and electronic brake-force distribution.

Connectivity

Equipped with an 8” NissanConnect infotainment display, the Nissan Leaf keeps you connected wherever the road takes you. Use voice commands to play music, send text messages, make calls, and turn on the GPS—all hands-free. Plus, use your smartphone to lock your doors, flash your headlights, sound the horn, and turn on the climate control.

With its customizable digital display, you will have battery range, weather, speed, and navigation all at your fingertips.
