2021 Nissan Titan vs. 2021 Nissan Titan XD

It’s no question that the Titan is powerful, but what if you need a little more towing capacity? Hello Titan XD! Let’s compare the 2021 Titan truck lineup so you can find your perfect fit!
The 2021 Titan Lineup
Both the 2021 Titan and Titan XD models share cab sizes, interior options, standard Safety Shield 360, and boast America’s best truck warranty. While both of these truck models bring safety, power, and tech to the table, your choice will depend on what you need for towing, payload and stability while on the job.
Both models come equipped with a rugged leaf spring suspension system and a high capacity rear axle, and a commercial differential. But the Nissan XD offers a larger and extensively reinforced chassis, which helps resist vertical and lateral bending when you are towing heavy loads. Plus, they both come with a rack and pinion steering, plus trailer brake and sway control.
The interiors of these two models are the same and have the same five-passenger seating configuration and cabin dimensions. They also come with the same infotainment system and Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 driver assistance suite.
Features include:
- Forward collision warning
- Front and rear automatic emergency braking
- Pedestrian detection
- Blind-spot monitoring
- Rear cross-traffic alert
- Automatic high beams
- Lane departure warning
The Titan comes in both Crew Cab and King Cab trims, while the Titan XD only is available in the Crew Cab trim.
2021 Nissan Titan
The 2021 Nissan Titan offers a best-in-class standard torque of 413 lbs per foot and 400 hp. The max towing capacity of the Nissan Titan Crew Cab is up to 9,310 lbs, and a payload of 1,650 lbs.
The Titan comes equipped with a 5.6-L V8 Endurance engine that will help you traverse steep grades.
2021 Nissan Titan XD
The Titan XD offers the same standard torque to 413 lbs per foot, and 400 hp, but its max Crew Cab capacity is 11,040 lbs and boasts a payload of up to 2,390 lbs.
The Titan XD has the same Endurance V8 engine, but comes with a commercial-grade reinforced frame that will help you tow even more in any terrain.
Being that the Titan XD is the heavy duty version of the Titan, it comes with a 6.5-foot bed, a longer wheelbase, and taller suspension.
2021 Nissan Titan Vs. 2021 Nissan Titan XD
As you can see, while there are differences between the two Titan models, they are quite similar in many ways. If payload and towing capacity is important, the Titan XD offers upgraded strength and more capacity, but the standard half-ton Titan while smaller, is a beast! It drives well, is slightly less expensive, and is available in more configurations.
