2022 Nissan Altima Midnight Edition - Better than A Camry Post

If you are in the market for a new sedan, you have likely come across the 2022 Nissan Altima and the Toyota Camry. With the 2022 Altima Midnight Edition, the Altima stands out in its class with a variety of enhanced features from safety to power and style when compared to the 2022 Toyota Camry.

So, the question is, is the 2022 Nissan Altima Midnight Edition better than the Camry? Let’s find out!

What is the 2022 Nissan Altima Midnight Edition?

The 2022 Altima Midnight Edition is available in the top-of-the-line SR trim with the standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. The package adds blacked-out exterior trim, LED fog lights, heated front seats, power lumbar adjustment for the driver’s seat, a sunroof, and 19-inch black-painted alloy wheels. Plus, the V-motion grille is blacked out instead of silver, and the Altima badge on the back of the vehicle is blacked out as well.

All these features enhance the Altima sedan for a luxurious sporty feel. We love it!

Performance

The Altima comes equipped with a naturally aspirated 2.5 liter inline 4 engine with 182 horsepower with a CVT transmission. The Toyota Camry has an automatic transmission.

You can go 0-60 mph in 7.4 seconds and the Altima’s top speed is 119 mph. The Altima Midnight Edition SR offers 25 mpg in the city and 35 on the highway. Plus, you can enter Sport Mode with the easy touch of a button on the back of the shifter.

You can upgrade to a variable compression turbo engine which adds quite a bit of horsepower and with the Camry, you could upgrade to a V6.

Available AWD

If you want better handling in all weather and road conditions, you can upgrade to All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) on the 2022 Nissan Altima. The Camry also offers AWD.

Interior

The interior of the Altima’s sporty style starts at its door panels with soft-touch materials and orange stitching for a pop of color. The orange stitching continues along the dashboard with silver trim for that extra sporty touch.

Next, you’ll notice an 8-inch floating style touchscreen infotainment system with Sirius XM radio Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrations. With the touchscreen, you can personalize features such as the backup camera to adjust the parameters of the display. You can also customize the home menu to include shortcuts, widgets, and more.

When engaged, the backup camera takes up the entire 8-inches of the touchscreen and makes it easy to get into tricky parking spots.

Included are standard AC controls with blower speed and temperature control, as well as two-stage heated seats. Moving down you will find a USB-C, USB, Aux jack, and a 12-volt input, as well as two cup holders.

Nissan’s Zero Gravity seats are upholstered in matte black and are accented with orange stitching as well. The passenger side seat in the Altima SR is manually adjusted, while the driver’s side has an electric assist.

Backseat passengers will have ample room to spread their legs with plenty of room to spare, and if they need to charge their phones, there is a USB-C and a USB input in the back of the center console for easy access.

Cargo

With the push of a button, the trunk opens to a wide 15 cubic feet of cargo space which can be upgraded to include a cargo organizer with a Nissan First Aid Kit. A nice feature is the bag holders that are attached to the top of the trunk, where you can easily hang a bag of groceries that you don’t want to spill while on the way home.

Bottom Line

The bottom line? If you are looking for a sedan that will turn heads yet offers performance and sporty amenities, the 2022 Altima Midnight Edition is a great choice that edges the Toyota Camry out of the competition.
