The SUV market is one of the fastest-growing segments in the automotive industry. Big names like Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, Ford, and others are vying for the top SUV on the market, but which SUV is the best?
Today our team at Maus Nissan North Tampa is taking a deep dive into the 2022 Nissan Rogue Platinum to see how it stacks up against the competition. Ready? Let’s go!
2022 Nissan Rogue Platinum: What’s New?
The Rogue is handsomely styled and offers a spacious cabin, generous cargo room, and ample standard and optional amenities that SUV buyers crave such as high-tech infotainment and safety features.
For 2022 the Rogue’s 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine has been replaced with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that creates 201 horsepower. The CVT transmission has also been revised and upgraded to aid in acceleration and fuel economy.
The mid-level trim, the SV, offers the best mix of new features including 18-inch aluminum wheels, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera system, and Nissan’s ProPilot Assist.
The SV Premium adds a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, faux-leather upholstery, and a power-operated rear liftgate.
Performance
As stated above the 2022 Rogue comes with a smaller but more powerful turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that offers 201 horsepower. The Rogue comes standard in front-wheel drive but all-wheel drive is optional.
On the Platinum model, there are five different drive modes including:
- Off-road
- Snow
- Auto
- Eco
- Sport
Fuel Economy
With the new turbocharged three-cylinder engine, the Rogue is rated for 30 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.

- Memory front seats

Cloth seating comes standard, but the SV model can be upgraded to have faux-leather upholstery. The Platinum model gets genuine leather with quilted stitching.
Passenger space is about the same as the 2021 model, and cargo space is around 37 cubic feet.
Infotainment
On the dashboard, you will find a standard 8.0-inch touchscreen in the base models though a larger 9.0-inch screen is standard on the SL and Platinum models.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard features while in-dash navigation and a Bose stereo system are optional.
You will also find USB charges in the front and rear for easy charging on the go.
