2023 Nissan Z Video Review Post

Ever wondered which sports car out there is the best for 50K? The truth is, the Nissan Z is at the top of the list!

Our team at Maus Nissan takes a quick look at the 2023 Nissan Z from top to bottom to see if it is worth it. (We certainly think so!) Let’s dive in!

What is the Nissan Z?

Sports cars are having a moment, so it is perfect timing for Nissan to redesign its aging Z coupe. Historically, Nissan’s sports car has been denoted by an alphanumeric name, such as the outgoing 370Z model and the original 240Z from 1969. This generation is simply known as the Z.

The 2023 Z is equipped with a 400-hp twin-turbocharged V6 engine that is paired with a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission. It has zippy acceleration and playful handling, and this iteration is more refined than the car it is replacing.

The Z also receives a technology update with a new infotainment touchscreen, a reconfigurable digital gauge display, and ample driver-assistance features.

Driving & Fuel Efficiency

The new 2023 Nissan Z does a lot of things right. It has a supple sports suspension, and it rev matches easily by putting it in S mode. Plus, it feels powerful when you are behind the wheel.

According to the EPA, the most efficient Z is the one that comes with the automatic transmission with 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. If you choose the manual transmission it drops to 18 mpg and 24 mpg respectively.

Interior & Comfort

Although new for the 2023 model year, Nissan hasn’t changed the layout inside the Z’s cabin. It is still a two-set coupe, but don’t worry, there is plenty that they did upgrade!

The new Z gets a modernized cabin with updated materials including leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

You can fit three carry-on suitcases in the trunk, but since you likely aren’t running to Costco in this sports car, that is plenty of room.

Infotainment & Technology

Nissan equips the Z with a standard 8.0-inch infotainment display, a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, SiriusXM satellite radio, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

A six-speaker stereo is standard but audiophiles can upgrade to a premium Bose system as well.

Z Performance Model

If you truly want to feel like you’re in a luxury sports car, check out the Performance model. It comes with a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, manual climate controls, and a digital gauge cluster.

Plus, the higher-spec trim brings four-way adjustable seats for the driver and passenger, heated seats, active noise cancellation, and an active sound enhancement system.

The Performance model gets all the upgrades you might want including:

  • Front and rear spoilers
  • Aluminum trimmed pedals
  • A HomeLink universal transceiver
  • Leather seats with synthetic suede inserts

Finally, you get more interior color options to choose from beyond the Graphite Leather color including Red and Black and one that has blue accents. We recommend choosing the option that complements your chosen exterior color for the ultimate sports car.

Bottom Line

As one of the most powerful sports cars ever built, the 2023 Z will make sports car lovers’ jaws drop. At 400 hp what’s not to love? Plus, fun sports car colors inside and out, and ample technology makes the 2023 Z a must-have.
