5 Great Features of the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Post

Over the past few years, special off-road models and special packages for crossovers and SUVs have become popular, and Nissan’s 2023 Rock Creek Pathfinder is no exception!

The Rock Creek trim combines mechanical upgrades with rugged exterior styling to produce a Pathfinder that is ready to take on whatever the wilderness throws at it.

Learn about five of the Pathfinder Rock Creek’s best features with this deep drive from our team at Maus Nissan of North Tampa!

Increased Capabilities

There are two main upgrades that give the Rock Creek trim its increased off-roading capabilities. First, its bead lock-style 18-inch wheels come with Toyo Open Country all-terrain tires that are wider than the all-season tires found on regular Pathfinders.

Second, the Rock Creek’s suspension has been lifted by 0.6 inches, which might not sound like a lot, but when you are off-roading, every little bit helps!

The Rock Creek also gets some powertrain changes. It has a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with 295 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is the only option, and it comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

When Nissan says that the Rock Creek Pathfinder is ready for adventure, they mean it! The SUV has a 6,000 lb towing capacity, which is enough to tow boats, trailers, ATVs, or camp tents. It also comes with Trailer Sway Control as a standard feature.

Driving Modes + Camera

Every Rock Creek Pathfinder comes equipped with seven different drive modes including:

  • Sand
  • Snow
  • Mud
  • Rut
  • Tow
  • And more!

These settings change things like torque distribution, throttle response, and stability control for the best off-road experience possible.

Plus, the Rock Creek also has a new off-road display for the surround-view camera system. One of the screens shows a split view of the front-facing camera and over the front right wheel. Another display gives you a full 360-degree view. The best part? The cameras automatically turn on when you switch to one of the off-road drive modes. Nice!

Stand Out Style

Looking at the exterior, the front end gets a gloss black griller with a large mesh pattern, a redesigned bumper, and a larger faux skid plate. The side skirts and rear bumper have the same design as the standard Pathfinder, but the Rock Creek also gets a tubular roof rack with a 220-pound load capacity.

You’ll also get to choose from some exclusive exterior colors, like the popular Baja Storm.

Impressive Interior

The Pathfinder Rock Creek’s interior is also upgraded. It has black leatherette seats with fabric centers and orange contrast stitching. There are also embroidered Rock Creek logos on the seats and front armrest.

The second row comes equipped with a comfortable pair of captain’s chairs with a removable center console that offers ample storage.

The climate controls are all analog, and all the knobs and buttons are easy to use. It even has an electronic shifter.

Improved Technology

A 9-inch touchscreen comes standard in the Rock Creek model, and it also comes equipped with technology features like:

  • A wireless smartphone charger
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay
  • Wired Android Auto
  • SiriusXM radio
  • Navigation
  • 13-speaker Bose audio system
  • Heated first and second-row seats
  • Three-zone automatic climate control
  • USB-C chargers
  • ProPilot driver assistance suite
