Review Roundup: 2024 Nissan Pathfinder

If you’re looking for a practical SUV to commute to work or for family road trips to the beach, the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder may just be the vehicle for you!
Still trying to figure out why? Well, we’ll tell you! Our team at Maus Nissan of North Tampa explores the various amenities and features that you’ll enjoy in the 2024 Pathfinder, whether you want a comfortable ride or a technology-filled oasis.
Let’s explore!
What’s New for 2024?
For the 2024 model year, the Pathfinder is unchanged. The Rock Creek Edition, a rugged version of the Pathfinder, was added in 2023 and is also available this year.
Performance
The Pathfinder comes equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine but it forgoes the CVT (continuously variable transmission) for a new nine-speed automatic.
- The V6 offers 284 horsepower in most trim levels but has 295 in the Rock Creek model.
- Front-wheel drive is standard, but all trims can be upgraded to all-wheel drive.
Drivers who upgrade to the all-wheel-drive system will also enjoy seven drive modes including:
- Sand mode
- Mud/Rut mode
- Snow mode
- Tow mode
- Sport mode
- Eco mode
In testing, a front-wheel drive SL went from 0-60 mph in 6.7 seconds, and the all-wheel drive version did it in 6.6 seconds.
The all-wheel drive Pathfinder has the best gas-mileage ratings with 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.
Interior + Comfort
Modern touches with comfortable seats and well-placed controls give the Pathfinder an almost luxurious feel.
With three rows of seats, eight riders can sit comfortably inside, but if the second-row bench is swapped for captain’s chairs, that number decreases to seven.
There are integrated storage cubbies throughout the inside of the Pathfinder, including a large bin just beneath the center console which passengers and the driver can access.
Upper models get extra amenities such as:
- Semi-aniline leather upholstery
- Heated and ventilated front seats
- Panoramic sunroof
Technology + Safety
If you’re into automotive technology, you’ll love the 2024 Pathfinder. Equipped with a standard 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, drivers will be connected to the latest version of NissanConnect software. A 9.0-inch display comes standard on the SL and Platinum trims.
Other features include:
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- 3-inch digital gauge display
- Onboard Wi-Fi hot spot
- Wireless smartphone charging page
- Sirius XM satellite radio
- A head-up display
- In-dash navigation
- 6-speaker audio system, though a 13-speaker system is available as an upgrade
As for safety features, every Pathfinder, whether the base model or the luxury Platinum trim level, comes with ample driver-assistance features.
Our favorites include:
- Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection
- Automatic high-beam headlamps
- Blind-spot monitoring and lane-departure warning
- A semi-autonomous driving called ProPilot Assist comes standard on SV, SL, and Platinum trims
As you can see, whenever you get behind the wheel of a Pathfinder, you and your family will feel safe and secure!
