Ready to go electric in 2022? Nissan is expanding its line of electric vehicles for 2022 with the Ariya SUV, which will go on sale in the United States in 2021. Let’s take a look at what Nissan has in store for the electric car market this year with the 2022 Nissan Ariya.

The Dawn of a New Era

Joining its electric predecessor, the Nissan Leaf Hatchback, the all-new Nissan Ariya will offer up to 300 miles of driving range and will have a low, wide stance that gives it quite the sporty look. You have the option to choose between battery sizes—the 63.0-kWh battery comes standard, and a larger 87.0-kWh pack is optional—plus you can choose either front or all-wheel drive! As with all of Nissan’s lineup, the Ariya will be packed with driver-assistance features, an advanced infotainment system, and a comfortable stylish interior, which helps it compete with other crossovers such as the Tesla Model Y.

New for 2022

The 2022 Nissan Ariya is brand-new for 2022 and features Nissan’s new semi-autonomous driving system, ProPilot 2.0. The Ariya can drive up to 300 miles when equipped with the dual front/rear motor configuration, and the larger 87.0-kWh battery.

Pricing

The base version of the Nissan Ariya will start around $40,000. Nissan has not released the price for the upgraded battery model. The range is key when switching from gasoline to electric, and the 87.0-kWh battery is a great value!

Performance

Nissan is offering optional all-wheel drive via a dual-front/rear-electric motor configuration in the 2022 Ariya. It is estimated the all-wheel-drive Ariya will be able to zip from zero to 60 mph in less than five seconds. Peppy acceleration is characteristic of EV powertrains, and the Nissan Ariya won’t disappoint.

Range & Battery Life

The Ariya offers up to 300 miles of driving range per charge, which is a step up from the Nissan Leaf’s max range of 226 miles. The Ariya will be chargeable at home on 110 0r 240-volt outlets, as well as at public charging stations or DC fast-charging ports.

Interior & Cargo

Speaking to its futuristic exterior lines, Ariya’s interior follows suit and is quite minimal. The dashboard is smooth and free of unnecessary buttons. The flat low floor gives the interior a spacious feeling inside, and it comes equipped with comfy zero-gravity seats.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Ariya will come equipped with dual 12.3-inch displays that serve as both the digital gauge cluster and the vehicle’s infotainment system. Included in the infotainment system are Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and in-dash navigation as standard features.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

As an optional feature, the 2022 Ariya will feature Nissan’s ProPilot 2.0, Nissan’s second generation of its semi-autonomous technology. This system will allow the driver to remove their hands from the steering wheel in certain driving scenarios.

The Ariya’s Key Safety Features Include:

  • Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist.
  • Available upgrade to adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode
