What is the Nissan Pro-4X Off-Road Package?

What is the Pro-4X Package?

Nissan’s Pro-4X off-road package was first introduced for the Frontier in 2009. Today’s iterations of Nissan trucks with the Pro-4X package include stout chassis and upgraded suspension systems, heavy-duty bushings, Bilstein shocks, enhanced technology, and more!

Now, let’s check out how the Pro-4X enhances the Frontier and Titan truck’s performance and capability on the trail or in the rocks!

Powertrain

The 2022 Frontier Pro-4X features an updated 3.8-liter V-6 engine with 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. Backed by a nine-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system, this truck is a force to be reckoned with off-road.

Other unique drivetrain upgrades include an electronic locking rear differential and a switch to choose between Tow or Haul modes.

Chassis and Suspension

The chassis and suspension system in the Frontier Pro-4X is very similar to the chassis and suspension in the King Cab S Frontier. Both are outfitted with an engine speed-sensitive power steering system, an independent double-wishbone front suspension, and a multi-leaf rear suspension system.

The Pro-4X is unique in that it comes with Bilstein monotube shocks that are optimized for off-road performance as well as a rear-suspension stabilizer bar.

Wheels and Tires

The Pro-4X package upgrades the base 16-inch wheel up to 17 inches. The Pro-4X package also includes all-terrain tires.

Interior Features

In the cabin, several features make the Pro-4X stand out as compared to Nissan’s standard truck interiors. A six-way power driver’s seat and a 60/40 split flip-up bench seat can be finished in optional leather, and black stitching can be substituted for the package’s Lava Red stitching if preferred.

Also included in the package are Pro-4X embroidered seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, chrome door handles, and Pro-4X carpeted floor mats.

Convenience is key in the Nissan Pro-4X off-road package, with dual-zone automatic temperature controls, Nissan’s Intelligent Key and push-button ignition four cup holders, illuminated vanity mirrors, and overhead storage for sunglasses.

PRO Premium Interior Package

The PRO Premium Package offers several interior upgrades for the 2022 Frontier Pro-4X including:

• 17″ Beadlock-style aluminum-alloy wheels
• Leather-appointed seats
• Auto-dimming rearview mirror
• Black interior stitching
• HomeLink Universal Transceiver
• Fender premium audio system with 10 speakers (includes subwoofers)
• Premium door trim and center console stitching
• Power sliding glass moonroof with tilt feature

Exterior Features

Leading the upgraded features on the Pro-4x package are aluminum skid plates that are positioned at the front and beneath the truck, protecting the oil pan, fuel tank, and transfer case from damage while off-roading.

LED headlights, fog lamps, and daytime running lamps come standard, as well as Lava Red painted front tow hooks.

What makes the exterior of the Frontier Pro-4X stand out is special identifying decals, a dark gray front grille, black over fenders, and a body-colored rear bumper dual power mirrors, and door handles. Finally, a sliding rear window finishes off the Pro-4X’s exterior.

Safety and Infotainment

The Frontier Pro-4X comes with a nine-inch NissanConnect color touch-screen display, door-to-door navigation, NissanConnect services, Sirius XM radio, and a vehicle security system.

Available for an upgrade is a Fender premium audio system with 10 speakers and subwoofers.

PRO Technology Package

New for 2022 is Nissan’s Pro Technology Package which includes a collection of driver assists and alerts to keep drivers safe on the road.

These features include:
