What’s Updated In The 2026 Nissan Kicks?

If you are looking to buy a new compact SUV in Tampa Bay, the 2026 Nissan Kicks could be just what you’re looking for! For 2026, the Kicks has been upgraded with more comfort and technology features, making it a great choice for commuters and families alike.

Follow our team at Maus Nissan of North Tampa as we share more.

Trim Levels & Pricing: More Value Across the Board

The 2026 Kicks is available in three main trims: the S, SV, and SR. Each of them now offers more standard features, with just a slight increase in price compared to the previous model.

Powertrain, Fuel Economy & AWD Option

Under the hood, the 2026 Kicks keeps the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine from the previous model. It produces around 141 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with a CVT (continuously-variable transmission).

  • Front-wheel drive models get about 28 mpg city / 35 mpg highway / 31 mpg combined.
  • All Wheel Drive models get roughly 27 mpg city / 34 mpg highway / 30 mpg combined.

Most exciting, AWD is now available across all trims as an option, something many buyers had been wanting.

Interior, Technology & Comfort Enhancements

This year’s Kicks gets several technology upgrades, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen that is now standard on all trims, even the base S. That’s not something you see in many entry models.

Other features include:

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Standard USB-C ports in the front
  • Nissan’s “Zero Gravity” seats are in both front and outboard rear positions

For colder climates, the new Cold Weather Package is available on the SV and SR trims. Features include heated front seats, heated side mirrors, and rear floor heater ducts. While our Florida winters are mild, this package increases comfort on cooler mornings and is just nice to have.

Safety & Driver Assistance Upgrades

Every 2026 Kicks model now comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes several driver-assistance and active safety features. These include:

  • Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Lane departure warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert and high beam assist

The SR trim adds more advanced features like ProPILOT Assist (for semi-autonomous driving in certain conditions), a 360-degree camera system, upgraded lighting, and nicer interior touches.

What’s Carried Over & Things to Consider

While there are many upgrades, some things remain the same, including the same engine and performance specs. The exterior features and styling are largely the same from the 2025 redesign as well, including the V-Motion grille, floating roof, and better ground clearance.

Some of the new features, like the Cold Weather Package or AWD, may not be as important in our mild climate, but they are still nice to have.
