What’s New for 2023?
The Altima has been refreshed for the 2023 model year with updated styling and upgraded standard technology features.
- The Platinum model was dropped for 2023
- Comes with an updated grille, new color choices, and fresh wheel designs
- Interior features offer new details that vary by trim level
- On sale in fall 2022
Engine Options
There are two engine options available for the 2023 Nissan Altima. First, there is a standard 2.5 L inline 4-cylinder with 188 horsepower paired with an Xtronic CVT transmission. You can upgrade to the VC-Turbo that creates almost 250 horsepower which is also paired with the Xtronic CVT transmission.
Exterior
The 2023 Nissan Altima has had a major upgrade to its exterior styling. Nissan offers the Altima with a few different V-motion grille designs depending on the trim. For example, the SR comes with a black grille with chrome accents.
Nissan also integrated the car’s turn signals into the daytime running lights and LED headlights also come standard. Four new wheel designs range in size from 17-19 inches, and there are two new exterior colors for 2023—Gray Sky Pearl and Garnet Pearl Metallic.
Interior
In the 2023 Altima’s cabin, Nissan focuses on a premium feel with better materials and finishes than its predecessor. The SR trim picks up new finishes on its instrument panel, and its upholstery now features a dual-stitch design. It also has a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
It comes equipped with Nissan’s Zero Gravity seats which provide extra support and padding, with contrasting stitching that pops against the all-black interior. Interior dimensions are the same as the 2022 model and offer space for up to five adults.
Safety
The new 2023 Altima comes standard with Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 technology as well as standard forward collision warning and driver-attention warning safety features.
The SL and SR VC-Turbo trims also come with traffic sign recognition and a 360° surround-view camera system.
ProPilot Assist, Nissan’s suite of advanced driving assistance systems comes standard on the top two trims and is optional for the SV.
Nissan says that the 2023 Altima can slow the vehicle to a stop and hold it there during traffic jams. Neat!
Technology
A 5-inch infotainment display comes standard in the 2023 Altima, but most trims come with an 8-inch touchscreen. The higher trims like the SL and the Altima SR VC-Turbo come with an upgraded 12.3-inch touchscreen.
The base Altima comes with:
- 1 USB port (higher trims come with additional charging ports)
- Bluetooth
- Hands-free texting
- Siri Eyes-Free
