Test Drive Review: What’s It Like Driving The 2025 Nissan Altima SR?

The Nissan Altima has long been a fan favorite for several reasons. It’s reliable. It’s affordable. And it’s full of amenities! But what is it like to get behind the wheel of the 2025 Nissan Altima SR?

Let’s find out! Our team at Maus Nissan of North Tampa shares some insight into what you can expect when driving the 2025 Altima SR.

Performance

Before we take the Altima for a test drive, let’s talk about its performance specs. The Altima SR is equipped with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-four-cylinder engine that generates 182 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque.

Fuel economy comes in at 25 mpg in the city, 34 on the highway, and 28 combined, and it’s 0-60 MPH time is 7.6 seconds.

Test Drive Notes

Trust us, you’re going to really enjoy getting behind the wheel of the 2025 Altima SR. Due to sound-deadening materials in the cabin, you won’t hear much wind noise as you cruise around town and on the highway. Plus, the all-wheel-drive system gives greater confidence whether you are driving in dry weather or in a downpour.

Comfort-wise, the Altima’s seats are comfortable and supportive, even on the longest of road trips. Though it looks sporty, it offers a relaxing drive for daily commutes.

Technology Features

While behind the wheel, you’ll notice that there is a 7.0-inch instrument panel display and an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen on the dash, but it does not come with wireless charging at this time. Passengers do get access to a pair of rear USB ports to charge their devices though, so that’s a perk!

Comfort-wise, the Altima was built for road trips and offers amenities to make the road not seem so long. It has a spacious cabin with enough storage for phones, water bottles, and road-trip snacks, and the second row gives ample legroom to passengers, which is much needed on long trips. The trunk can hold two large suitcases and several other small items, which is nice!

Safety technology is abundant in the Altima and includes:

  • Front and rear automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Lane departure warning
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Rear-cross traffic alert
  • Automatic high beams

ProPILOT Assist is another amazing feature that combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering technology to help drivers navigate the road with more confidence. It also helps reduce driver fatigue on those long trips.
