Before we take the Altima for a test drive, let’s talk about its performance specs. The Altima SR is equipped with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-four-cylinder engine that generates 182 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque.

Fuel economy comes in at 25 mpg in the city, 34 on the highway, and 28 combined, and it’s 0-60 MPH time is 7.6 seconds.

It has a spacious cabin with enough storage for phones, water bottles, and road-trip snacks, and the second row gives ample legroom to passengers, which is much needed on long trips. The trunk can hold two large suitcases and several other small items, which is nice!

Safety technology is abundant in the Altima and includes:

• Blind-spot monitoring
• Rear-cross traffic alert
